Thanks, Madeline! We’ve been at war with this for 30 years, & I did not know it has the same ability as black walnuts to taint soil. Our current nemesis is what we call purple weed, which has come out in force this year. A small price to pay for what has been a beautiful spring, & weeding gives us something to do!

My husband and I enjoyed this beautiful spring garden so much we planted some daffodils and forsythia on a hill at our new home. We still are enjoying it every year. This absolutely breathtaking natural looking garden at Winterthur is an absolute must see, if you like springtime displays.
